Great yoga, everybody!
Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions

» What does my child need to bring?
Cool Cats Yoga provides every child with a relaxation blanket, which they need to bring each week. They do not need a mat. We recommend that they bring a drink and, for the after-school sessions, a small snack may be required. Children might like to bring a special object to share during ´respect others´ time.

» What does my child need to wear?
School PE kit or comfortable, loose clothing, e.g. leggings or tracksuit trousers and t-shirt, may be worn. Skirts and dresses are not appropriate. Purple Cool Cats T-shirts may be purchased, costing £7.50.

» My child has asthma/dyspraxia or similar. Can they take part?
You are advised to consult with your child´s doctor with respect to any past or present injury, illness, health problem or any other condition or medication that may be affected by their participation in the Cool Cats Yoga programme. Generally speaking, all children can do yoga, to their own ability. They do not need to be physically fit, or have great balance. There is a section for medical details on the registration form which must be completed thoroughly and an update form should there be any changes. Please speak to Catherine if you have any concerns.

» What is the registration form for?
It is essential that a registration form is completed before children join a class so that we have your contact details and can reach you at any time. If you or any of the named contacts on your registration form change phone number, please fill in an update form and give it to Catherine. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT in case we need to get hold of someone. Please keep your mobile turned on if it is one of the emergency contacts! The registration form also informs the club of any current or previous health problems, allergies, physical limitations etc.

» Is the class more suited to girls than boys?
Definitely not! The imaginative element of the classes appeals equally to boys and girls so they can all enjoy Cool Cats Yoga and reap the benefits. It is widely known that top sportsmen as well as women practice yoga to enhance their performance.

» My child is very energetic. Is yoga for them?
Cool Cats Yoga classes are different to adult classes; they are very dynamic so there is no standing still for long periods of time! However, they do promote calmness and concentration, so children are encouraged to find some inner stillness. In the unlikely event of a child not being suited to Cool Cats Yoga, discussion will take place with the parent / carer . Cool Cats Yoga reserves the right to withdraw a child´s place.

» Can my child come on a ´drop-in´ basis? How much does it cost?
To fully reap the benefits of Cool Cats Yoga, children need to come weekly. Classes are offered in term or half-term blocks, so costs vary accordingly. Payment is in advance, at the time of booking, via the school office. In some cases, children can join ´mid-term´ and will be charged pro-rata. No refund can be given if a child is unable to attend a session, if they wish to discontinue a course or if the school venue is closed due to unforeseen circumstances. However, if a class is cancelled by Cool Cats Yoga, a refund or credit is given.

» How do I pay?
Payment can be made by cheque, cash or BACS transfer. Cheques should be made payable to Cool Cats Yoga. Payment and registration forms should be handed to the school office in a sealed envelope marked for the attention of Cool Cats Yoga. Please contact Catherine for BACS transfer information.

» How long does a class last?
Classes usually last 45 minutes. See our class timetable for more information.

» My child doesn´t know anyone else in the class. Will they be ok?
Yoga is all about care for others as well as ourselves so your child will be warmly welcomed, fully included and helped to make new friends. Making children feel special and valued is a key aim of Cool Cats Yoga so rest assured that your child will be a happy, secure Cool Cat in no time.

» How do I know my child is safe?
Catherine holds an enhanced DBS / CRB check and is fully insured. She is a qualified and experienced teacher.

» My child does not attend any of the schools in which you hold the classes. Can they still join?
No. Regretfully, the classes are not public. Only pupils of the respective schools may attend.
